    • P243304/K – Works to Trees in Conservation Area

Orchard View, Church Lane, Orleton, Herefordshire SY8 4HU

Proposed works to a 70ft mature Leylandii which needs to be reduced in height by two thirds to protect the property from risk of damage and the property of neighbours. The tree is also entangled with power cables that serve the property.

  • P242755/FH – Full Householder

Vicarage, Orleton, Ludlow, Herefordshire SY8 4HN

Proposed rear ground floor flat roof extension, a detached 2 bay garage and removal of 3 trees.

Comments by: 19th December 2024

Orleton Parish Council made the following comment: Orleton Parish Council have reviewed this application and have no objection to the same. We do however wish to be assured all storm water from the proposed garage and extension are terminated into soakaways and the drive extension is permeable and not adding to the runoff into the village highway.

  • P243135/FH – Full Householder

The Glebe House, Church Lane, Orleton, Ludlow, Herefordshire SY8 4HU

Proposed enlarged bay window and new front porch

Comments by: 31st January 2025

  • P241595/V – Certificate of Lawfulness (CLOPD)

Overton Farm, Overton, Ludlow, Herefordshire SY8 4HZ

Application for a Lawful Development Certificate for the proposed use of existing building as Use Class E(c)(iii).

Decision : REFUSED

  • P243258/K – Works to Trees in Conservation Area

Ford House, Millbrook Way, Orleton, Ludlow, Herefordshire SY8 4HW

Mature Silver Birch to be reduced in height by 15m to limit potential damage to neighbouring property

Comments by : 20th January 2025

  • P243119/K – Works to Trees in Conservation Area

20 Mortimer Close, Orleton, Ludlow, Herefordshire SY8 4PG

T1 Ornamental Flowering Cherry Blossom Tree – crown reduction – reduce height to 50% and spread to 30%

Comments by: 4th January 2025

Orleton Parish Council made the following comment: Orleton Parish Council instructed our Tree Officer to review this application and we therefore make the following comment: From a distance the tree appears to be a form of the Wild Cherry, it is a mature specimen with an excellent shape. However, the tree in question is very close to the house and would benefit from some remedial pruning to keep it in check and hopefully prolong it’s lifespan. The proposal to reduce the height to 50% and the spread to 30% is too drastic to be carried out in one go and would potentially be harmful to the tree. My suggestion would be to carry out a height and spread reduction of 30%, with the aim of maintaining the shape of the tree. The owners would then be able to assess the impact of the work on the tree which would better inform any further proposals.
