MINUTES OF ANNUAL PARISH MEETING HELD AT 7.00PM ON THURSDAY 11 APRIL 2019 AT ORLETON VILLAGE HALL
PRESENT: Parish Council Members: B Gandy – Chairman; and J Harrison. There were five (5) members of the public present.
IN ATTENDANCE: P Crumpton and C Pyemont, West Mercia Police; Ms C Cotton, Vice Chair of Governors, Orleton School; Mrs M Pritchard and Mrs C Gandy, Orleton Village Hall Management Committee; Ward Cllr. S Bowen; and Mr R Hewitt, Clerk.
The meeting was chaired by Mr B Gandy, Chairman, Orleton Parish Council.
1. Apologies for absence – Cllrs. E Clanzy Hodge, P Smith; and R Tibbles.
2. Declarations of interest and written dispensations – None.
3. The minutes of the annual parish meeting held on 17 May 2018 were agreed to be a true record and signed.
4. Village Hall Management Committee – Mrs M Pritchard and Mrs C Gandy, Orleton Village Hall Management Committee provided a written report which was read to the meeting (copy is available and included with the minutes).
5. Orleton Primary School – Ms C Cotton, Vice Chair of Governors, Orleton School read out a written report from the head teacher (copy is available and included with the minutes).
6. Orleton Recreation Association – A written report was read out by the Clerk and is included with the minutes.
7. Parish Council Report – Cllr. B Gandy, Chairman, provided a report on the year. A summary of the report is included with the minutes.
8. Crime prevention advice – West Mercia Police highlighted Cyber-crime and current scams, including advice on how to spot a scam and set up systems to avoid becoming a victim of crime.

9. Ward Cllr. Report – Sebastian Bowen talked about the pothole review by the general scrutiny committee. The velocity patcher is to help fix potholes more quickly and efficiently. There is to be a balanced budget. Seventy six percent of the budget is required for adult and children’s social care. There are new directors for social care and children’s well-being.
10. Open session for the general public – A member of the public asked about the parish council’s involvement in the natural flood management project for the Brimfield catchment area.
