Statement on proposed purchase of shop and Post Office building
28 January 2022 – Orleton Parish Council considered whether or not to make an offer for the purchase of the village shop and PO building at an extraordinary meeting held on the evening of 27 January 2022. This part of the meeting was held in closed session to consider a verbal report on a meeting with the vendors and potential negotiating strategy going forward.
The parish council took the decision to suspend activities for the time being in respect of a possible purchase of the building pending the potential for a private sale. It is understood that the shop and PO is to be put on the market, and it is hoped that this will result in a successful private sale.
